Published: 07/07/2008

The RYAs National Sailing Scheme can be run by Training Centres in the UK and overseas, using dinghies, multihulls or small keelboats.

Full details of our requirements for running these courses can be found in the documents below. A brief summary is as follows:

-The Principal or nominated Chief Instructor must be an RYA Senior Instructor with the multihull or keelboat endorsement if appropriate.

-Your training boat(s) must be suitable for the type of courses you intend to run and you must have shorebased facilities including a teaching room, changing rooms, toilets and showers.

-An application for recognition must be sent to the RYA detailing who your instructor(s) will be, where you will run courses from and on which boats.

-An inspection visit will be arranged in order to check your boat(s) suitability and maintenance, the shorebased facilities, and your centres administration and operating procedures.

When our Inspector is happy that your centre complies withRYA requirements, a report will be submitted to recommend that recognition should be granted.Recognition is then granted by the RYA, at which time you will receive confirmation through the post and may start running and promoting our courses.
