RYA courses are available at over 260 centres in 22 countries outside the UK

RYA training courses are available at over 260 centres in 22 countries outside the UK.

These centres train almost 20% of all the people who take RYA courses. They offer a unique opportunity to sailors and powerboaters of all nationalities to take advantage of the RYA’s high standards and experience in providing training. Many locations have fascinating, diverse and challenging coastlines, some with off lying islands and sheltered inland waterways presenting endless opportunities for training.

All centres from Cyprus to Cape Town, from Antibes to Auckland operate the same RYA syllabus to the same standard. Practical centres are inspected annually to ensure both boats and instruction are up to the RYA’s requirements.

The RYA Yachtmaster® is the most credible and respected certificate for professional and amateur boaters alike. The syllabus is seen internationally as the most relevant and practical in the world. Also RYA certificates are a measure of competence - only skippers who satisfactorily complete the syllabus earn the qualification.

Many countries have emulated RYA training and introduced their own version of our syllabus run by their national authority. However, worldwide the RYA with its experience, inspections and quality is still by far the preferred option.
